Famous Architects of All Time 

NOTE: This portion of the site is under construction - architects are being added in no specific order

The following is a list of famous architects (builders) from Imhotep (27th century BCE) to Robert A M Stern (1939-). This list was compiled from studies at Andrews University School of Architecture, books, the world wide web, and places that I have visited. This is my list, not some internet ranking list so obviously this list is heavily based on Architects that embrace my favorite style of Architecture, which is Classical and Traditional. 

It should be noted that often in Before Common Era (BCE) time and the 1st/2nd century's of Common Era (CE); the Pharaoh, or the Emperor, or the Dynasty, etc. receives credit for an architectural structure. This could be for a variety of reasons, but the most common are; the architect is unknown, there are several architects/sub-architects, or the Pharaoh (for example) takes credit (because they want the credit or because of the previously mentioned reasons assume the credit).

All sources used are listed and although not shown, are cited. You can visit the sources to read the complete information about the architect or architectural structure and see the citations. Note: Before Common Era (BCE) and Common Era (CE) are commonly use is architectural dates. This replaces Before Christ (BC) and Anno Domini (AD), which tends to used else where. This calendar era is based on the traditionally reckoned year of the conception or birth of Jesus of Nazareth, with CE (AD) counting years from the start of this epoch, and BCE (BC ) denoting years before the start of the era. There is no year zero in this scheme, so the year AD 1 immediately follows the year 1 BC.
